Creating precise technical drawings in Fusion 360 is essential for accurate manufacturing and communication of design intent. The software offers tools to generate detailed drawings directly from 3D models, ensuring precision and clarity.
Starting a New Drawing
To begin, open your 3D model in Fusion 360. Navigate to the toolbar and select the Design workspace. Click on Drawing and choose From Design. Set the sheet size and orientation according to your requirements. This creates a new drawing sheet linked to your model.
Adding Views and Dimensions
Fusion 360 automatically generates standard views such as front, top, and side. You can add additional views by dragging them onto the sheet. To ensure precision, select the view and adjust its scale as needed. Use the Dimension tool to add measurements, clicking between points or edges to specify exact sizes.
Refining and Annotating Drawings
Annotations such as notes, labels, and symbols can be added to clarify details. Use the Text tool to insert notes, and position them appropriately. For detailed views, include section cuts or exploded views to highlight internal features. Ensure all dimensions and annotations are clear and accurately placed.
Exporting and Sharing
Once completed, export the drawing as a PDF or DWG file for sharing or manufacturing. Click on Output and select your preferred format. Verify that all views, dimensions, and annotations are correctly displayed before finalizing the export.
