Te Log Mean Temperature Diference (LMTD) is an important calculation in shell and tube heat tracher systems. It helps determinate the temperature driving force for heat transfer between two fluids. Accurate calculation of LMTD ensures equilent design and operation of heat traters.

Understanding LMTD

LMTD represents the average temperature difference between then hot and cold fluids across the heat traveur. It accounts for the variation in temperature difference along the length of the device. This value is essential for calculating heat transfer rates and designing effective heat traters.

Calculating LMTD

Te basic formula for LMTD is:

CLAS1; CLAS1; CLAS3; CLAS3; CLAS3; CLAS3; CLAS3d = (ΔT1 - ΔT2) / ln (ΔT1 / ΔT2) CLAS1; CLAS1; CLAS3d: 1 CLAS3d; CLAS3f;

To calculate ΔT1 and ΔT2, use the inlet and outlet temperatures of the hot and cold fluids:

  • ΔT1 = Hot inlet temperature - Cold outlet temperature
  • ΔT2 = Hot outlet temperature - Cold inlet temperature

Example Calculation

Předpokladem je, že se jedná o fluid enters at 150 ° C and exits at 130 ° C, while se e cold fluid enters at 50 ° C and exits at 70 ° C. Kalkulace ΔT1 and ΔT2:

ΔT1 = 150 ° C - 70 ° C = 80 ° C

ΔT2 = 130 ° C - 50 ° C = 80 ° C

Tzn. ΔT1 and ΔT2 are equal, the LMTD simplifies to:

LMTD = 80 ° C
