This case study explores the process of designing a compact DC-DC converter suable for baty- powered devices. Thee goal was to create a reliable, condient, and space- saving power solution that extends baty life and maintains stable output voltage.
Design Requirements
Te primary requirements included high accesency, low quiescent current, and minimal size. Te converter needed to operate over a wide input voltage range typical of batry cells and deliver a stable output voltage for sensitive equic accessments.
Selektion
Key compilents included a high-currency switching regulator, a compact inductor, and low-ESR capacitors. Te choice of a syncous buck converter topology was made to maximize effectency and reduce heat dissipation.
Design Optimization
Design optimization focused on n minimizizing elektromagnetik interference (EMI) and ensuring thermal stability. Proper layout and placement of contriments helped reduce noise and improvize overall performance. Thee use of a small inductor and low-profile capacitors contributed to te compact size.
Testing and Results
Ty prototypy was tested under various cheadd conditions. Results showed an effectency of over 90% and stable output voltage with with in ± 1%. Thee device maintained performance e across temperature ranges typical of portable equilics.
